From humble beginnings in the late 1940’s Clamason Industries has grown into Europes’ leading manufacturer of precision pressings. Created by the current Managing Director’s Father, and still in private ownership the company originally specialised in small, complex parts utilising both multi-slide and low tonnage high speed presses - an expertise that remains a core competence.
The business developed during the 1960’s manufacturing boom and was involved in projects as diverse as car hub cap retainers, bicycle parts, and tiny Hi-Fi components.
From the early 1970’s Clamason secured a marketplace for its’ precision pressings in the dynamic world of personal computers, relocation to larger premises, the addition of sub-assembly and larger presses helped facilitate the company’s rapid growth.
With the exodus of the computer industry to the Far East, Clamason refocused and diversified. Thanks to the investment in larger machines, and robotic welding facilities the company was able to target the expanding automotive safety, and electronics sectors, specifically airbags, & engine control units which along with in-car-entertainment became a major growth area.
The company also recognised the need for quality systems and training, adding a National Training Award to BS5750, onwards to QS9000 and accreditation to TS16949.
Taking into account the desire by many multi-nationals to reduce their direct manufacturing, and sub-contract their press work requirements, over a five year period in excess of 500 tools were relocated to Clamason as the company proved its’ ability to competitively project manage major realignments of its’ customers strategies.
Into the new Millennium significant new product areas include medical devices & set top boxes for satellite TV with quality again playing a major role, Clamason is the only pressworker in Europe to be validated by the FDA, and a proud partner in the manufacture of Solostar the Worlds’ leading insulin pen.
Clamason has also opened a new 2200 square metre facility in Nitra, Slovakia in order support our growing customer base in the region, and as a low cost sub-contractor to the UK.
